Avra joined Mainstream in December 2022. She is a lawyer with experience in both the public and the private sectors in energy, infrastructure, procurement, banking/finance, corporate and commercial law since 2002. Following completion of her law degree, she served her articles at Bowmans in Johannesburg.

Her career included in-house legal counsel for Absa Bank, Legal Manager at Primedia (Ster-Kinekor), specialist Legal Advisor at the IPP Office, energy advisor to the National Treasury Cities Support Programme and key strategic advisor to Operation Vulindlela, and Component Manager for Power Sector Reform at the GIZ. Working with key stakeholders, Avra has a track record in successfully designing, contributing to, advocating for, and implementing strategic projects and reforms in the energy sector. In addition, Avra has represented South Africa in several international engagements related to the energy sector.

In addition to being an admitted attorney, she holds an MBA and a diploma in International Relations.
