De Wet holds a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Pretoria and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering with a renewable energy focus from Stellenbosch University. He has design engineering experience in the commercial and industrial solar thermal and solar PV industry.

He has experience in the implementation, procurement and construction of commercial and industrial solar PV projects, both Hybrid and off grid, and ranging from rooftop, fixed tilt ground mount and single axis tracker projects across Southern Africa.

He will provide technical and project management expertise to SAPVIA’s Secretariat and will be responsible for unpacking relevant government regulations, policies and strategies for the energy sector in general, and renewable energy specifically to members as and when needed.

He will project manage SAPVIA initiatives, provide technical resources to the SAPVIA working groups, conduct relevant research and oversee the creation of technical content for distribution to members.
